This vintage 1960s Longines is a perfect embodiment of status and the "golden era" of Swiss design. The centerpiece of this model is its elegant case, crafted from solid 18K gold (750 hallmark), whose warm luster highlights its noble heritage and makes the watch a sound investment.

The understated light dial remains in excellent condition, showcasing textbook readability with applied gold markers and Arabic numerals in a classic "12-3-9" layout. Added charm comes from the small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position, featuring a refined crosshair design - a hallmark of high-end dress watches.

Inside beats a true legend of the horological world, the manufacture caliber 30L. Collectors consider this to be one of the finest and most reliable manual-wind movements ever produced by Longines. A classic brown leather strap harmoniously complements the gold case, completing the look of a flawless gentleman’s accessory that blends jewelry-grade value with mechanical perfection.

BRAND HISTORY

The history of Longines is a grand epic of Swiss watchmaking that began in 1832 in the town of Saint-Imier. It was here that Auguste Agassiz laid the foundation for the future legend, but the true breakthrough was made by his nephew, Ernest Francillon. In 1867, he took a bold step by bringing talented craftsmen together under one roof, building a factory in an area known as Es Longines - meaning "long meadows." This name became the brand’s identity, and the famous winged hourglass logo, officially registered in 1889, remains the oldest trademark in the world still in use unchanged today.

The 20th century was a time of conquering the elements for the manufacture. Longines watches accompanied aviation pioneers, including Charles Lindbergh during his transatlantic flight, and became the benchmark for precision in global sports, timing records at the Olympic Games and horse races. The mid-century was marked by the creation of iconic manufacture calibers, such as the legendary 30L, which earned fame for their phenomenal reliability and elegant architecture. Today, Longines remains the embodiment of noble classics, where every turn of the hand represents nearly two centuries of continuous refinement and dedication to tradition.
