Presented for your consideration is a true artifact of the "Space Age" (early 1970s) — the cult Enicar Sherpa Star. This model is a vivid example of bold 70s design. The stainless steel case features a unique streamlined shape reminiscent of a space capsule. The watch is in honest vintage condition. The case and dial show characteristic traces of time and wear, adding charm to the timepiece and highlighting its long history.
The primary aesthetic feature is the rare architecture of the relief dial. The date window is positioned at "12 o'clock," while the day indicator (in German) sits symmetrically at "6 o'clock," creating a striking vertical line. The silver "Sunburst" dial displays natural patina and signs of age, making this specimen truly unique and "alive." The crystal is sapphire, scratch-resistant—a feature that signified premium class status in those years.
The heart of the watch is the reliable in-house Enicar AR 257 caliber, a 25-jewel automatic movement. The movement features a gold-plated finish for corrosion protection and is equipped with the Incabloc shock protection system. The screw-down caseback boasts a complex polygonal shape and is adorned with the relief "Seapearl" logo (an open oyster with a pearl), confirming its place in the legendary Sherpa family.
The watch is fitted with a vintage stainless steel expansion bracelet, a rare German production from the 1970s, which adapts perfectly to any wrist size.

BRAND HISTORY
BRAND HISTORY
It all began in 1913 in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Founder Ariste Racine faced a dilemma: he could not name the brand after himself because the trademark "Racine" already existed. He came up with a brilliantly simple solution—he spelled his surname backward. Thus, Enicar was born.
Unlike many brands of that era that merely purchased ready-made movements and cased them, Enicar was a true manufacture. They developed and produced their own in-house calibers (marked "AR"), which were renowned for their "bulletproof" durability. The company was also a pioneer in the use of ultrasonic cleaning ("Ultrasonic") for movements, a technology that significantly extended the life of the lubricants.
The turning point came in 1956. A Swiss expedition to Everest and Lhotse selected Enicar as its official partner. The watches on the climbers' wrists withstood the grueling conditions of the Himalayan high altitude. It was following this triumph that the cult "Sherpa" line was born—a symbol of absolute reliability.
By the 1960s, Enicar had become an icon of motorsport. They were worn by the legendary racer Stirling Moss and Formula 1 champion Jim Clark. The brand became synonymous with speed, risk, and success.
Unfortunately, the "Quartz Crisis" of the 1980s led to the demise of the old Enicar manufacture. Today, the brand's vintage models represent an exclusive club for collectors. Acquiring such a watch means owning a piece of great history that can never be repeated.
